The Life of a 17 month old...

I take my mornings nice and slow. I hang out on the couch with my favorite blanket...I named it "Bubby." I really like to watch Sid the Science Kid on PBS...he is super cool.

After a few minutes relaxing on the couch...it is full speed ahead...I play! I love to throw balls.

Just the other day, my dad taught me how to make cars go down the spiral train track. I can do it all by myself now. Isn't that cool!

Summer Eats!

Keegan is not the greatest eater. He has his main foods he eats everyday and I try to have him try some new foods during the week. Well, I hit the jackpot the other night because he devoured an ear of corn and an entire nectarine. So cute to watch! Oh, he now enjoys his Cheerios straight out the box versus in a conventional bowl with milk...go figure!!!

Cool Centerpiece

My aunt came up with the greatest idea for a Fourth of July centerpiece. It was originally supposed to be colored M & Ms, but after finding out the cost of colored M & Ms, my aunt had yet another brilliant idea to use gumballs. So, Kevin and I raided 2 grocery stores of all the red, white, and blue gumballs, and presto...here it is...

Sorry, no Keegan pics in this post. Check back later for some updated Keegan pictures!

" @ The Little Gym "

One of the coolest activities I have done with Keegan is taking him to the Little Gym. For those of you who do not know what this is, it is basically a structured class that teaches physical fitness, independence, exploration, and how to just have FUN! I loved it because it was a safe place that Keegan could go every week and just run around and explore. The teacher, Bill, was amazingly patient with the children and so positive. We would go every Wednesday morning and I think it was like Christmas morning for the two of us when we would wake up every Wednesday. Here are pictures of Keegan's last day of the class. The next semester we are going to take will start in the fall. We are taking the summer off to spend by the pool!

Pittsburgh Children's Museum

About a month ago, a girlfriend and I decided to take our kids to the Pittsburgh Children's Museum. It took about 2 hours to get there and luckily the kids took a short nap on the way there. Once we got there we had 3 floors of fun to explore. The most favorite floor for all the kids was the third floor water area. It was super cool. It had a bunch of water shooting out from the floor and you could then assemble pipes to make the water go anywhere you wanted. They also had a pool area where the kids could not get in, but build a boat and play with it in the water. And to dry off they had over 20 hand dryers on the wall. So cool...I wish I could have gotten a pair of Crocs on and gone to town...but I restrained myself and let Keegan have fun!

Another floor was the Mister Rodgers Neighborhood. A ton of memorabilia from the show was in the play area, but I think only the adults knew who Mister Rodgers was!

Also on the first floor was a construction area. Keegan just loved to play on the bridge, while his friend Brody just ran back and forth on the bridge.

On the second floor, were toys specifically geared towards kids of Keegan's age. He enjoyed this area, just playing with toddler type toys.

After about 3 hours at the museum...Keegan let me know he was all tired out and ready to go back to Ohio!

Mother's Day 2010

I am really blessed to have an amazing son and an amazing husband. I was reminded of this on Mother's Day. Kevin made sure that I was able to do whatever I desired on Sunday. I was able to sleep in till 9am, go for a run, eat a wonderful brunch at Blue Heron, and go shopping for the afternoon. I felt rejuvenated by the end of the day and ready to do it for another year. It has been a great year as a mom. Keegan has brought great joy and satisfaction to my life.
It was interesting to see how much a year can change a person. In comparison to last years Mother's Day photo, Keegan has definitely grown and I have defiantly gotten smaller!!
