One step closer...
The green stripe has been painted. The room is really coming together and looking great. The furniture just got delivered and set up yesterday. We think we have 1-2 more weeks of working on the room before it is completely finished. But, here is a sneak peak of the green and tan stripes. Enjoy!

HGTV watch out!!!
After consulting with our favorite paint store, we now have a plan for the nursery. We have decided to paint stripes. There will be three different paint colors: tan, olive green, and a gold/yellow. Kevin painted the walls a tan color this weekend and then after 48 hours we used a chalk line and a level to make a rough draft of the stripe lines. Just this evening the tape was applied. The next step is to paint 18" stripes of olive green. Unfortunately, I can not paint due to the pregnancy, so Kevin is truly going for husband of the year painting the nursery! We hope in one week to have the painting completed. Just in time for the furniture to be delivered on November 20th!

We recently found this bear at a local Home Goods store! Kevin and I instantly fell in love with it! We plan on putting the bear in the nursery.
It was so funny to watch Kevin walking around the store with the bear. Little kids kept pointing at the bear and adults were smiling and laughing. When the lady checking us out found out we were putting the bear in the nursery she thought it was such a good idea.
Not only do we love the bear, but Mia, the cat, seems to think it is pretty cool also. She is always sniffing the bear and poking at it!!

Let's start at the beginning...
Okay, so this weekend began the undertaking of the nursery. When we first purchased the house the soon-to-be nursery had a very bright blue paint with white wainscoting.

We decided to clean up the room by painting the room a soft yellow and keeping the wainscoting.
Well, I have now decided to change the room decor once again in anticipation for the baby. Our first step was removing the wainscoting and having our friend Chris repair the drywall. Here is a picture of the repair work thus far.
So, the wainscoting is gone and the wall is ready for some paint. We have just decided on the crib bedding and paint color. Our theme will be teddy bears! Stay tuned...

The Pregnancy Belly!
Well, here I am at 23 weeks pregnant! I continue to feel good and I can feel the baby move every day! Kevin and I recently took an infant CPR class that was very informative. This weekend we are tackling the nursery. Our friend, Chris, is helping remove the existing wainscoting and repairing the drywall. We had originally planned to put up a teddy bear themed wallpaper, but plans have now changed! Stay tuned!

Presenting Baby Daugherty!
I had my 19 week ultrasound appointment this week. The ultrasound shows that the baby is healthy and doing well. The baby should weigh less than 1 pound at this point and the baby is weighing in at 11 ounces. Again, we chose not to find out the sex so it is still unknown!! Here are a few of our favorite ultrasound shots! Enjoy!

Chapter One!
We officially have a blog! Kevin and I decided that with the upcoming addition to the family that a blog would be nice to share photos and news to family and friends. So here we are!
I am officially 19 weeks pregnant with my due date being February 22, 2009. We are extremely excited (and nervous) to become parents. We have decided not to find out the sex of the baby and leave that a big surprise. So, make sure to check the blog often for pictures and news about the family. We hope you enjoy!
